Niyi-Gafar is a barrister and solicitor of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, with over 19 years post qualification at the Bar.
She obtained a Doctoral degree in Law (LL.D) from the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 2017 specializing in International Comparative Human Rights Law with a focus on a rights-based approach to realizing water for domestic use and considered for promising practices, jurisdiction such as South Africa and Kenya.
Niyi-Gafar is a Senior lecturer, researcher, and legal consultant in the Department of Jurisprudence and International Law, University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria, specializing in human rights, disability rights, and environmental laws including Water Rights issues.
A member of several professional and academic associations/societies such as the Federation of Women Lawyers, the Nigerian Bar Association, and Rotary International, Niyi-Gafar is currently the General Secretary of Disability Law Advocacy Project (DLAP) housed in the Department of Jurisprudence and International Law, Unilorin.
